Training

I'm updating again, as I don't know when i might next get to the internety. two of the three weeks of training done now, and we'll go off to placement next friday or saturday, which is exciting but i've no idea how easy email will be. we should find out in the next couple of days who we are going to be placed with and where we are going, so I'm getting a bit nervous about it, because it will make such a huge difference to how good my year is. but I'm sure all will turn out well. and it means i should have an address you can write to in a couple of weeks too - yay! we have more teaching practice to do next week first, and the principal's conference where all the different pricipals of the colleges come together with the volunteers for a conference day before the placements begin. we have to write a motto and anthem for it too, excruciatingly cheesey hee hee!! the new accomodation for these two weeks of training isn't so nice - we have a rat infestation, and lots of cockroaches and no safe drinking water! but it's only for a few more days so better just grin and bear it, and perhaps it will be useful preparation for the rest of the year! aside from being nervous about who i'm going with, i'm really looking forward to getting out to placement and making a start on the work that we came to do - training is important but i'm starting to get itchy feet to get active. plus it means we're not babysat anymore, we can organise ourselves, and excitingly, cook for ourselves. i'm quite happy for now though, and most things are going well (there are of course challenges, the main one at the moment being massive gender issues which has taken a lot of the international vols by surprise and can be tough). and the group of people is really nice and some great friendships are being formed :) just have to wait and see what the next few weeks will bring!
much love and prayers everyone xxxxxxxxxx
